The Revit Standards are open standards for Revit users, developed and maintained by the Revit Standards Foundation. They define agreements for structured modelling and efficient information exchange within the BIM process.

The Revit Standards Foundation consists of a Supervisory Board, an Executive Board, and a Technical Committee. This structure ensures the development, management, and continuity of the standards.

The Revit Standards and related documents are available free of charge on the Downloads page. This page always contains the most recent version.

Stakeholders are formal members with voting rights and the highest level of involvement in the Revit Standards. Sponsors provide financial and technical support to the foundation but do not participate in decision-making. Donors contribute financially without direct involvement in the execution or management of the standards.

Organisations that actively apply the Revit Standards can, after consultation, have their organisation’s logo displayed on our website. This shows that your organisation works according to the standards and is part of a growing network of users.

Yes, the Revit Standards may be adapted for internal use within your organisation. However, modified versions may not be distributed or presented as official Revit Standards.

No, the Revit Standards Foundation does not develop or sell commercial software. The foundation provides standards, documentation, and templates that can be used with various software applications, including Revit.
