By applying these standards, order is created in the information structure and the exchange of information between parties becomes unambiguous, efficient and less prone to error. The NLRS contains agreements about Naming, Object Styles, Parameters, Mapping, General modeling rules and Documentation.

This manual helpes you step-by-step in making a good IFC export in accordance with the BIM Basic ILS in Revit, when you work with the NLRS. A lot has changed since the release of version 1.0.0, especially in terms of naming and classification. The most recent version (v.3.0.0) is a revised version of the first publication. All tests are incorporated in a template. The results of the tests are now available in three different IFC exports.

The Revit Standards International Framework v.1.0.1 contains the minimum requirements that must be met in order to be in line with the Revit Standards. RS International Framework v.1.0.1 has been used, for example, to test the development of the Belgian Revit Standards (BERS). This document creates an objective and measurable framework and enables further expansion and internationalization of the Revit Standards.

Addition 1: The BERS v.1.0 has been supplemented with the supporting documents to the standard from 17-11-2021.

Addition 2: The BERS v.1.0 has been supplemented with an Autodesk Revit template version 2020, 2021 and 2022. Please refer to the 'changelog' for more information.

Supplement 1: As of 30-09-2025, BERSfr v.1.0 has been supplemented with the supporting documents to the standard.

With the NLRS Checkset it is possible to check BIM models on the NLRS version 3.0.1 using the Autodesk Model Checker software. At the moment this checkset is suitable for version 2018 or 2020 and can be selected via the drop-down menu.

The Autodesk Model Checker can be downloaded from the website www.biminteroperabilitytools.com where these checksets can be used. The necessary manuals for using this software can also be found on the Autodesk website.

Addition: The currently supplied checkset with the Autodesk Model Checker software is only suitable for NLRS version 2.5.2 and will be replaced by these checksets in the future.

The Family Guide Doors is a guide for door families for Autodesk Revit. The manual documents things like orientation, zero point, and correct use of (shared) parameters, object styles, component naming, line styles, and shading. The Family Guide Doors does not describe how the geometry itself should be modeled. The Family Guide Doors is a blueprint for approaching other "openings", such as Windows and Curtain Walls.

The NLRS 3.1.1 MEP Family Guide provides clear guidelines for creating and managing Revit MEP content according to the NL Revit Standards. This guide contains uniform agreements on naming conventions, parameters, geometry, and connectors, thereby promoting a consistent working method that enhances quality, interoperability, and efficiency in Revit projects.

The USO Guide for Revit provides a practical method for modelling and coordinating provisions for voids in Autodesk Revit, based on the NLRS 3.1.1 standard. The guide covers the coordination procedure, naming conventions, required shared parameters, IFC export, and the use of schedules. USO stands for Uniform Sparingsopgave (Uniform Provision Specification) and is intended to document and exchange provision requests in a clear and structured way. This publication supports Revit users in working together in a uniform, efficient, and IFC-compliant manner across disciplines.
